Apprenticeships are work-based learning programmes that allow employees to apply both technical and academic skills on the job. At PMP apprenticeships play a significant role as we continually invest in our people - offering them a range of high-quality training courses and talent development programmes.
However, we don’t just invest in our own people; we also provide training to our partners, helping and supporting their colleagues to thrive in the workplace, or in response to skill gaps in the marketplace.
We pride ourselves on candidate retention and engagement and believe this is based on our ability to invest in people. We build long-lasting relationships with our partners which allows us to discuss opportunities, share best practice, demonstrate experience, and deliver programmes which support the clients' workforce and overall operation.
Last year we worked in partnership with Del Monte to utilise the apprenticeship levy to address a skills shortage within engineering. We identified suitable programmes of study and sourced the college to deliver the qualification.
We have now committed to funding a 3-year Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship programme which has a levy cost of £9,000. Del Monte participated in the recruitment and selection process and identified a suitable candidate to undertake the programme. We have worked closely with Del Monte to agree the specific study requirements, the job role and any additional training required. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for the candidate to be offered a full-time role within Del Monte.
