#MyPMPStory – Ruta, Branch Manager
Posted on in PMP Pride
This week we are celebrating #NationalStoryTellingWeek by showcasing our colleagues amazing stories and journeys with PMP Recruitment! Today we hear from Ruta, Peterborough Branch Manager, who shares her experience and journey over the last 5 years with PMP.
June 2015 –
I joined PMP as a temporary Consultant in Peterborough covering maternity leave. When I joined I thought it would just be a temporary 9 month role, and I would be leaving the job, but thankfully that was not the end of my journey with PMP. As soon as I started I said to my Line Leader “I drive, send me anywhere you need, give me any job and I will get it done.” I think this is where it all started. Within a year I looked after two accounts and my skillset went from registrations, payroll, and compliance, to managing client expectations. After some time I got back into branch and I supported several accounts whilst also setting up new ones, managing transport bookings and much more!
Then the opportunity to become a senior consultant became available…
July 2017 –
I successfully became a Senior Consultant after a very stressful interview. I still went out and about and looked after the resourcer team in the branch. I was given so many opportunities to go and support other sites, meet new people and be recognised for the job I do. During this time I joined the operational excellence programme and started my Project Management level 4 course. This is all thanks to David and Laura, I will always be grateful for their trust in me.
July/August 2019 –
During this time I was supporting another branch and client for three weeks, I honestly never missed my “home” (Peterborough branch) so much! After coming “home” I was given the news that there was an opportunity to be an Interim Branch Manager due to business growth. Laura said: “Sleep on it and have a think”, well I slept on it for around 5 seconds and I immediately said “I’ll do it”. Six months later after a very successful peak and the most wonderful team I could ask for, I got the Branch Manager role on a permanent basis.
Before I started working at PMP I was jumping between jobs as I didn’t like the routine, doing the same job every day and not knowing if I could progress did not interest me. Once I joined PMP I knew this was it, it is extremely challenging but I have never woken up and thought “I hate my job”, in fact I wake up thinking what will this day bring!
Working with my team in the Peterborough branch feels like working with my sisters and now that I have become Branch Manager, it feels like I am the oldest sister and we’re all a big family at PMP.
